Getting Started
---------------

You have two choices, depending on what's installed
on your machine.

Java interpreted bytecode:
(If you have any Java interpreter)

CLICK ON THE BATCH FILE CALLED "Palmetto Bay
Wordmaster v0.91" TO START THE PROGRAM.

Native Windows 95 version:
(If you have Internet Explorer 3.01 or higher
and Microsoft's Java Virtual Machine DLLs)

   LAUNCH THE APPLICATION PBWM091.EXE
   TO START THE PROGRAM.

Notes
-----

This is the Java Virtual Machine version of
Palmetto Bay Wordmaster. This distribution
includes Java bytecode (*.class) files and
a stand-alone .EXE program. In both cases it's
required that Microsoft Java runtime libraries
are already installed your machine. If you
don't have these libraries, see the Web site
above for more information. The batch file
supplied in this directory references Microsoft's
"JVIEW.EXE" included in this archive. You can
change the file to reference any other Java
viewer you desire. An icon for this program
that you can use to create Windows 95 shortcuts
is included in the file PBWICON.ICO.

Troubleshooting
---------------

Q: I can't get the Java interpreted byte code
    (batch file) to run!

Did you unzip this archive with a program that
does not support long filenames? It is
recommended that you use a Windows 95-aware
archive program such as WinZip. (See
www.winzip.com)

Q: I can't get the .EXE to run!

Do you have Microsoft's Java Virtual Machine
DLLs installed on your machine? If you don't,
the .EXE will mysteriously do nothing at all.
See the Wordmaster web site for a link to
Microsoft's JVM free download page.

Q: I can run the program, but the dictionary
appears empty.

If this distribution doesn't include the 1.6
Mbyte dictionary file eng33kwm.sdf that Wordmaster
0.91 requires, you should download it separately
from the Web site above and put it in this directory.
