Unfortunately the load on the server has grown faster than the comms bandwidth available and at $150/mo for a Time Warner business cable connection with static IP, it's now more than I'm willing to pay. So I've moved my servers to a cheap hosting site, and am switching my connection to a 3Mbit DSL connection at $15/mo... phew, I feel richer already :-)
Anyway... the new hosting will not be able to run all the cgis I used to have and those that will run here will need some work to be migrated.
22 Mar 09: This particular cgi - which generates the possible moves on a scrabble board - is now available again under a slightly different URL: http://www.gtoal.com/cgi-bin/allmoves.cgi however I am actually doing some new development to the script, so it may behave differently to what you are used to, or it may not work at all. The changes I'll be working on are to do with lookahead and guessing what your opponent's reply is likely to score.
This is an algorithm I came up with some years ago but never fully developed at the time, due to some personal issues that meant I gave up hobby programming for some time. I now have the time to work on it again. An old description of the algorithm is online and is fairly close to what I'll be implementing. (There's a few details changed since I found a couple of minor faults in the original writeup)
