cardwords is a customizable crossword game. It uses cards showing characters and points. The players are putting their cards on the card-table so that they form crosswords.
The game is customizable in the following ways:
All options except the last one are changed by editing text files. Once there will be tools for creating custom files, but by now they have to be edited with a text editor. The format of these files is described in the documentation.
cardwords is always played with a client connecting to a server, even if you want to play a game against robots only. Your client takes care to start a local server and connect to it if you tell it so.

In order to run you need scalable fonts for your X server. This is a part of XFree86, but your distribution might not install these by default.

The current version of cardwords is m4_include(VERSION) . Versions beginning with 0.0. are alpha versions. This software is currently in alpha state.
