**************** * REQUIREMENTS * **************** To run Nineword you will need: * GTK **************** * INSTALLATION * **************** 1. Edit the Makefile to suit your system. (probably not needed) 2. "make" to build the game. 3. "nineword" to play. There is an icon called "nineword.xpm" which you can use to more conveniently load the game from your desktop. ******************** * Playing the game * ******************** Find out the rules via help->instructions. There are nine black & white buttons with letters on them. When you click on them, a letter appears in your current word box below. Click on different letters or type them into the text box to form a word. Once you have (what you think) is a valid word, press "check" to make sure. If the word is indeed valid, then it's added to your wordlist and you get one point. If it's invalid for any reason, the current word box is cleared and all the letters pop up allowing you to try again. When you're sick of the current word, click on "new word" for the game to start a new game with a random word. The last 9-word will appear to let you know what you were supposed to find. ********** * Author * ********** David Lawrence - philaw@camtech.net.au Also by the Author: XTux, a multplayer network action game featuring Tux the penguin.
