This is a scan of a book about Prestonpans from the 1800's which I ran through an OCR program to extract the text. I haven't cleaned it up and there would be several months of work needed to recreate a readable e-book from it, but it *is* quite readable even in this rough format. I'm putting it online here for folks from Prestonpans to read and I may find myself cleaning it up for publication slowly when I have an idle hour. Fortunately the typesetting conventions used in this book are very similar to those used by my great grandfather, John Stirling, who was a printer in Bathgate, used, and I have previously restored several of his publications, so I already have the typesetting software to hand that would allow me to recreate this book electronically in a reasonable approximation to the original style, should I find enough time to do so.
