 think you misunderstood my point about the terrorists 'winning'.  What
I meant was that for some years the IRA have claimed not to be a criminal
organisation, whose aims are to overthrow the will of the majority in
ÉÉÉ
Ulster, but a guerilla army fighting an occupying force of a foreign
power in a situation of civil war.   By doing that they claim a moral
parity with the security forces, or even moral superiority.
They therefore aim to provoke the government into adopting repressive 
and totalitarian measures such as you support.
