Once upon a time, there were three bears; Daddy bear, Mummy bear and Baby bear. They lived in a little cottage in the middle of a big forest. One day, Mummy bear made porage for the bears' breakfast and put it on the kitchen table in three bowls; a great big Daddy bowl, a middle sized Mummy bowl and a little tiny Baby bowl. When the three bears sat down to eat the porage, they found it was too hot. Daddy bear said, 'Why don't we all go for a walk in the forest and have our porage when it is cooler?' So, off they went into the forest. It so happened that on that very same day, a little girl called Goldilocks was also out for a walk in the forest before breakfast, She had been out for some time and had got lost in the dark forest. She was very tired and hungry. Suddenly, she came upon a little cottage in the middle of the forest. Hoping that someone might be able to tell her the way home, whe went up to the little front door and knocked. No-one answered, so she lifted the latch and went inside. She found herself in a little kitchen. In the middle of the room was a table and on it were three bowls of porage, one was a great big one, one was middle sized and one was tiny. Goldilocks felt so hungry that she just had to taste it. First, she tried the great big bowl. It was much too salty. Then she tried the middle-sized bowl. It was too sweet. Then she tried the tiny bowl. It was just right, so she ate it all up. When she had eaten the porage, Goldilocks felt more tired than ever, so she looked round the kitchen and saw three chairs; one great big one, one middle sized one and one tiny little one. She climbed up onto the great big one. It was too hard and lumpy. Then she tried the middle sized one. It was too soft. So, she tried the little tiny one. It was just right, so she sat in it, but it fell over and broke. Goldilocks still felt very tired, so she looked round the cottage for somewhere to rest. She found a little bedroom, with three beds in it. One was a great big bed, one was middle-sized and the other was a tiny little one. She lay down on the great big bed, but it was too hard. She tried the middle sized one, but it was too springy. So she tried the tiny little one. It was just right, so she fell fast asleep. A litle time later, the three bears returnd from their walk in the forest to have their breakfast. When they came into the kitchen, Daddy bear looked at his bowl and said, 'Who's been eating my porage?' Mummy bear looked at her bowl and said, 'Who's been eating my porage?' and Baby bear looked at his bowl and cried, 'Who's been eating my porage and eaten it all up?' Then Daddy bear looked at his chair and said, 'Who's been sitting in my chair?' Mummy bear said, 'Who's been sitting in my chair?' and Baby bear cried, 'Who's been sitting in my chair and broken it?' Then, the three bears heard a sound from their bedroom and went in. Daddy bear said, 'Who's been sleeping in my bed?'. Mummy bear said, 'Whose been sleeping in my bed? and Baby bear cried, 'Who's been sleeping im my bed - and she's still there?' Suddenly, Goldilocks woke up to find the three bears looking down at her. She jumped out of bed, opened the window and, before the bears could catch her, jumped out into the forest and ran away home. The three bears jumped after her, but all tumbled over each other in their haste to catch her and Goldilocks got clean away. So the three bears went back into their cottage and Mummy bear made some fresh porage, because the porage she had made before was cold. And Goldilocks and the three bears lived happily ever after.
